Return to Sender looks back on the life and career of Wullie ‘The Highland Postie’. 12 days before Christmas. Postal Workers are on strike. Wullie, now retired, meets the new postie Laura, who is now working the same round he once did all those years ago.
The play examines how the demise of the Royal Mail has eroded the very fabric of rural communities in the Scottish Highlands.
Writer's Note
The idea for Return to Sender was previously developed at The Highland New Play Festival at Eden Court, In January 2024. Written extracts were worked on and showcased as part of the Festival’s scratch sessions, with a cast and director.
